Grocery Workers Justice Project

Whether you're a Union member or not, Local 1500 is here to help you if you have a problem on the job. Although we believe that the answer to the problems workers have in this country is to join a union, we recognize the need to assist those that are currently non-union.

That is why UFCW local has initiated the Grocery Workers Justice Project.

Today's workers have many basic protections afforded them by State and Federal laws. Unfortunately, employers are constantly depriving workers of their legal rights. There are laws that cover the following:

• CORRECT PAYMENT OF WAGES
• CORRECT PAYMENT OF OVERTIME
• WRONGFUL DISCHARGE
• WORKERS COMPENSATION AND DISABILITY
• WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY
• FAMILY AND MEDICAL LEAVE
• DISCRIMINATION
• PHYSICAL DISABILTY DISCRIMINATION
• SEXUAL HARRASSMENT

If you would like to have Local 1500 send you information on any of these laws or any other topic, please fill out the FORM completely and submit to local 1500. ALL INFORMATION IS STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL. A Union Representative will contact you immediately or send you the information. You can also call Local 1500 at 1-800-522-0456 at extension 1322 or email us at info@ufcw1500.org.

The Local 1500 Grocery Workers Justice Project can help you and your fellow workers if your employer is breaking the law. Through our experienced staff and legal counsel, we will assist you in correcting the problem.

Remember, Local 1500 is Here for You!!!!!
