Member Assistance

UFCW Local 1500 recognizes that workers, both Union and Non-Union alike, suffer from a variety of stress related problems. In today's busy world, it's easy to find yourself in a situation you just do not know how to get of.

Maybe alcohol is the problem. Society's pressures have pushed you or a family member towards drugs. Perhaps fighting at home is getting out of hand. You may find yourself in financial problems. It could just be plain old, job stress.

Whatever your problem, it's important that you face it and deal with it. That is where Local 1500 can step in and help.

In conjunction with the Long Island Council, UFCW Local 1500 participates in a Membership Assistance Program. A Local 1500 Representative can assist you by putting you in contact with a counselor/evaluator. The initial contact is FREE. That counselor can assist you in determining what treatment or course of action can best help a person. If you're a member of Local 1500, there an excellent chance your Health Plan will assist in paying any cost that may be incurred.

You can contact the Long Island Council directly.
