Terry Quiñones began her Local 1500 career in September 1977 working as a Part-Time cashier for D’Agostinos Supermarket in order to pay for her tuition at Cathedral HS. In 1982 she was promoted to Full-Time status as a Scanning Coordinator and later was given the responsibility of overseeing the pricing procedures of all stores. She currently holds the position of Field Director at Local 1500, overseeing the day to day operation of all the Union Representatives on the field.
She began her career with Local 1500 in May 1993 as an Organizer. She worked tirelessly in numerous campaigns throughout Local 1500 jurisdiction. Some of those included elections with Leroy Pharmacy in the Bronx, Extra Supermarkets in NYC, BJ’s in Suffolk County and most notably Terry helped organize the workers of five Associated Supermarkets throughout the Bronx. In August 1995 Terry was promoted to Union Representative. Throughout the years she’s serviced the membership in Queens, Nassau County, NYC, Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess Counties. In November 2009 she was unanimously voted onto the UFCW Local 1500 Executive Board as a Vice President. In December 2010 Terry was promoted to Field Director and continues in that roll today. She is also a Trustee on the Pension Fund as of March 2014 and a committee member for the Women’s Network Region One South.
Terry attended Baruch College in NYC, where she earned a degree in Business. She currently resides in Rockland County with her husband Tony. They have a blended family of four adult children Michelle, Tony Jr, Carlos Jr, Cory and Grandson Anderson. She is very active in both Leukemia and Breast Cancer Fundraising events. She enjoys going to the gym, dancing and vacationing with her family and friends.
