Jay Scorzelli

Jay Scorzelli is currently an Assistant Field Director of UFCW Local 1500. Jay began his career with UFCW Local 1500 while he was a worker at the BJ’s Wholesale Club in Farmingdale, NY. Jay was very active in the failed organizing drive for the workers of that store but showed incredible promise during the effort. After eventually being fired by BJ’s for Union activity, Jay was hired as a SPUR (Special Project Union Representative) in November 1993 and continued trying to organize non-union chains throughout our jurisdiction. In October of 1997 Jay was appointed as a Union Representative by then President Frank Meehan. Throughout his two decades plus of protecting and serving our members Jay worked in the areas of Queens, Nassau and Suffolk Counties, the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn and New Jersey.

In March 2014, Jay was elected to serve as a Vice President on the Local 1500 Executive Board. He has been a delegate to the NYC Central Labor Council and served as a delegate to the Long Island Federation of Labor multiple times. His dedication to the labor movement has helped him excel at serving Local 1500’s members. Jay has also served on multiple contract negotiating committees over the last ten years, most recently serving on the Pick Quick Key Food committee in 2017.

Jay graduated in 1988 from Nassau Community College in Uniondale, NY, where he earned an Associate degree in Liberal Arts. He later graduated from SUNY Old Westbury with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. In 1996, Jay earned a Master of Business Administration in Management Degree.

Jay is married to his beautiful wife Jennifer since 1997 and they have one son, their pride and joy, Matthew. Jay and his family all have a fondness for animals as evidenced by them currently having three dogs.

Greg Pasquale

Greg joined the UFCW Local 1500 team in January, 2014. Greg worked for Stop & Shop and Grand Union for over 36 years. He served as a Shop Steward and a key negotiating committee member for numerous contract negotiations. He also served on the Local 1500 Executive Board before joining the staff. Greg represents Local 1500’s members in Northern Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess Counties.

Rob Ecker

Rob Ecker has been with UFCW Local 1500 as a member, organizer and Union Representative for nearly 30 years. In February 2017 Rob was promoted to Administrative Field Coordinator/Representative.  In January of 2018, Rob was elected as a member of the UFCW Local 1500 Executive Board.

Rob is active in holding numerous fundraisers for the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society, as well as for Breast Cancer research.
